adj. The condition of an ITEM that is made more attractive by being offered at a REDUCED PRICE, usually as a regularly scheduled and widely advertised promotion to attract and retain CUSTOMERS: “Why isn't this size on sale too?” See also FLYER. Contrast DISCOUNT, REGULAR PRICE.
